Rotary Foundation Centennial Gala Dinner

May 31, 2017, The Atlantic, Central Pier, Docklands.

Since the Rotary Foundation was established in 1917, the foundation has spent more than US$3 billion on Programs and Projects to improve the lives of millions of people worldwide.

With 100 years of service to the community, it's time to celebrate and bring members of the community together with Rotarians from right across Australia wide for a Gala Fundraising Dinner, held right here in Melbourne (the home of the 1st Rotary Club in Australia - Rotary Club of Melbourne).

The Rotary Club of Southbank is proud to host this Centennial Foundation Dinner and auction and along with corporate sponsors and the Australian Rotary Districts have set the challenge of raising AU$1,000,000 in contributions and bequests which will help set up the foundation for an even more exciting 100 years and beyond.

Model United Nations Assembly

M.U.N.A. simulates the workings of the U.N. assembly by having teams of two students represent a particular U.N. country. Topics are debated on matters of world political and social concern. It is held over a week-end to give sufficient time for all participants to become involved. The main aim is to develop an awareness of the United Nations in students as well as international situations of other countries and to encourage students to study topics from another country’s perspective.

The objective is to encourage young people to learn respect and tolerance for people of all races, religions and nationalities. They do this by debating U.N. topics from their given countries perspectives.
