#SouthbankRotary sets new standard by opening board meeting to members and guests

Before the 2018-19 year kicked in, the board made a pact to embrace flexibility in how we schedule, conduct and meet for board meetings. Though the case, Rotary International does require the board to meet monthly - so it got us thinking how we can do the change?

In Rotary Club of Southbank's constitution, it does allow the board to meet online if there is no quorum for face-to-face or there is a strong preference to meet online. So guess what, we created a group on Facebook Messenger and we have been conversing daily for the past few months, even in the wee hours of the morning and night - my doing, sorry team!

To not completely ignore face-to-face board meetings, we committed to meet in person once every quarter (July'18, Oct'18, Jan'19, Apr'19) to allow members, visiting Rotarians and guests to attend as observers to listen & discuss about club matters. And we did that on 24th July 2018 @Belgian Beer Cafe, Southbank. It was productive and everyone got something out of it. On behalf of the board, I'd like to thank the following observers for coming:
